Mount Ossa

Landform.


Mount Ossa is located in the middle of Cradle Mountain, St Clair Nation Park, Tasmania, at latitude 41°'53' and longitude 146 °'1'. 


Mount Ossa is the highest mountain in Tasmania, at 1,617m long. The whole mountain is made up of Jurassic dolerite, and is named after Mount Ossa in Greece. It was first climbed during the 1830's.

The Murray Darling Basin

Drainage Basin.


The Murray Darling Basin is located south east of Australia,at latitude 35°33′S and longitude 138°53′E. The Murray rises in the Australian Alps and flows through Australia's inland plains which form the border between New South Wales & Victoria.


At 2,375 kilometers in length, The Murray Darling Basin is Australia's longest river. The Murray flows trough several lakes including Lake Alexandrina and The Coorong. The three longest rivers in Australia also run through the Murray Darling Basin, these are: the Darling River, the River Murray and the Murrumbidgee River.The basin is home to a variety of native fish, covering 14% of Australia.

The Three Sisters

Landform.


The Three Sisters are located in The Blue Mountains National Park, Sydney, at latitude 33.7°S and longitude 150.3° E.


The Three Sisters is a rock formation, created by erosion and weathering, and towers above the Jamison Valley.Their heights range from 906m to 922m. Aboriginal dreamtime legends named the three sisters Meehni', 'Wimlah' and Gunnedoo.They were members of the Katoomba tribe living in the Jamison Valley. The legend of The Three Sisters was that they had fallen in love with the Nepean tribe, but tribal law did not allow them to marry. Their heights range from 906m to 922m.

The Great Barrier Reef

Flora & Fauna.


The Great Barrier Reef is located close to the coast of Queensland, Australia, at latitude 18°00'S and longitude 146°50'E.


This destination is one of the worlds most beautiful coral reef, it is also said to be the largest on the earth, created by living creatures at 2,300km long. It contains over 2,900 reefs, 300 coral cays and over 60 islands as well as a beautiful display of unique fauna and flora. The Great Barrier Reef is home to over 1500 species of fish, 400 species of corals, 4,000 species of molluscs, 215 species of birds and 6 species of sea turtles.

Uluru Ayers Rock

Uluru commonly known as Ayers Rock is located in Yulara National Park, Northern Territory, at latitude 25°23'S and longitude 131°5'E.


This destination is a unique aspect of Australia as it is the largest sandstone rock in world. Uluru is a sacred place to many traditional Aboriginal tribes, formed by sand piling up on the bottom of an inland sea that covered the middle of Australia at Bass Straight. Over the years wind and rain have weathered the rock. Uluru is approx 3.6km long, and 335m high. Uluru is also a major tourist attraction.
